We hatched 3 quail chicks earlier this week. The last one hatched Tues afternoon. I picked him up a few mins ago and he had some fluid coming out of his mouth. He's been eating and drinking, but I also noticed that when he pooped, it was watery. His breathing also seems a bit more labored than the other 2. Is there anything I can do to help him? Do I need to separate him from the other 2? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Edited to add: I may just be worrying for nothing. This is the first time I've ever hatched anything so I'm a little anxious.

I would not seperate him.
I would not pick him up anymore either.
Can you triple check to make sure the food is small enough for it to eat.
Put some in a ziploc bag... And take a hammer to it.

I've been using a food processor to grind up the food so it's pretty fine. And I have a waterer specifically for quail so they can't get in it. I've been keeping and eye on him and he's seems ok. It just startled me. I remember reading about this somewhere else and I can't remember what it said and now I can't find it. One more kind of off topic question; can newly hatched quail crow? This same little chick started "crowing" within an hour of hatching.

Yes, a newly hatched chick can crow. This was one of mine.

Here is their set up. I'm not able to do a video at the moment.

This is the watery poop.

The one in question is in the middle. He's definitely smaller than the other 2, but he's also the youngest.
