One of my fresh hatched chicks (3 days) looks to be having issues pooping. Like the poor thing is constipated and needs a little massaging for the poop to come out. Its eating drinking chirping and running round like a drunkard. But I had to clean its bottom this morning as the poop had dried below the vent in its fluff. None of the others are having this issue and the temp in the brooder is between 90 and 95°F ... theyre not piling but they are snuggling together so they're not cold or hot.

Any clue?

Might be that it's gut flora hasn't fully developed yet? or some other genetical digestive issue? No way of really knowing at that age.
It seems to have passed. Had a long hard poop come out solid after I massaged its bum with cotton wool and warm water (its the only thing I could think of to do from raising orphan pups) chicks pooping fine now ... so I have zero idea what happened xx

I had a chicken chick do that. Making a mush from the chick crumbles and water (sort of applesauce texture) seemed to help prevent it? Or could have been a coincidence and she just outgrew it.
