its like a very wet poo, with water seperated (pee?) from the poo. but it seems they only do this when i pick them up (only for a short 3 seconds to move them to a temp place, so I can clean their space). otherwise their poo seems regular and solid when in their space.

is this the meaning of "scared sh*tless" ? :)

Yes. I have noticed the same thing with my bantams and turkeys.
Turkeys-you've got it easy with the little quail. Try cleaning up after a nervous turkey-definitely not good house pet material.

My quail has frequent and watery poo when she's scared. When she's really scared her mouth is open and neck quivers (like when she's hot).

Do you hold your quail? They are so cute and cuddly when they are babies!

i try ! but they always try to get out and i dont force it.

My babies loved crawling into my hands and going to sleep. It was the only time they were quiet those first few weeks...
