My Little Sister's Farm :
hmm...where do i get cartons that aren't plastic then???
ebay
eggbid
eggcartons.com
red oak gamebirds
and a great many other sources--- they are offered in paper mache cartons or flats--- the flats work well for shipping-- place the eggs in a flat cut to size and then cut a lif to size from the rest of the flat--- tape togather to secure your eggs and then pad well in shipping carton. This method works quite well. Red oak makes the foam shippers which are an absolute dream! But expensive to use...
Usually for shipping I use regular chicken egg cartons... they provide plenty of room for buble wrapping each egg and confine them so theres no ping-ponging en route. I have yet to have any problems with this method and ship hundreds or more each month.
I not only ship eggs, but I receive a large number of shipped eggs each year for my uses... I like to "watch and learn" as to the best packing methods--- They are listed above
Another hint, if you're eggs are quite large-- get the chukar shipping flats--- they work much better.
