RIP ?-2014
My Bobwhites have just recently started laying and I've got a couple of questions I need help with from you experts.
1. I've noticed that the shells are very tuff. Not really the shell but the membrane between the egg and shell. Almost leathery (is that a word?) Is this normal?
2. The yolks are a very pale yellow not the dark yellow/orange of my chicken eggs. Is that because they don't free range like the chickens? Normal?
3. Do I need a nestbox for them? They are just laying them here, there and everywhere. Although the other day, I found 3 of them in an hollow they had made in the straw
Any info I can get from you quail guru's will be extreemly appreciated!!
