quail eggs ? advice please !

at what point do quail eggs go in to lock down they are courtnix ( not sure on spelling ) how many days till hatch some say 14 others say 18 ? how ling after first few hatch am I to assume that the others are not going to hatch ?

Day 14 they go into lockdown and day 18 they should hatch.

if there are any white birds do not be surprised if they get there on day 16

also this is day 11 just got my pen light and all I see is the air sack on the big end is that ok ?

I bought a few eggs from a local breeder he did not have any whites only goldens and browns if they were chickens you would hear them referred to as brown split for white



and how do you sex the white ones ?

if you want to squeeze them a little at the base of the tail the males emit a "foam" I just wait until they either crow or lay an egg the boys get little blue zip ties for ankle bracelets

I have 2 white ones in with line that are about 6 weeks old don't they lay soon ?
mine have been laying at 5 1/2 weeks to 6 weeks. I am not sure if it helps but mine get purina starina (30% gamebird starter)

they can be hard to candle if it glows it goes the dark ones I just let develop my bobwhite eggs are so easy to candle
