i found modesto milling 22% is soy and corn free but some reviews on chewy are not great.

any thoughts on what would work? im getting eggs this spring, so wont know how many birds i will end up with but want to figure out what feed so im ready. I currently feed a corn , soy gmo free feed for my chickens but the protein level is 16% i think.

it seems like i can feed 18-20% protein for adult quail but just need higher for younger quail which i havent found unless the first ingredients are corn and soy.

ok just looked at the quail section, sorry this is in the wrong section. but the modesto looks closer to what the quail need. no idea where to find 28-30% protein that isnt soy. and can i add lysine to the modesto?

anyone try the H&H game bird , saw it on amazon. says is soy free but the first ingredient is grain products.
28%
lysine is 1.5
fat 3.8
meth .55
so it seems close to being good for quail.

That would be good for chicks. Adults will need something with less protein.
im having trouble finding feed with the correct amount of lysine and meth. this seems to be the only one i can find. any suggestions? currently $1.50 a pound so not cheap but it has to be delivered.

only other feed i found was flock raiser 20% by purina. Its not soy free though but does have lysine at 1.1 and meth. .55, fat 3.5% so its close for adults and $.60 a pound

Are there no feed stores in your area? I found an equine supply store that also sells poultry feeds, and they carry Bar Ale feeds. They special order the Bar Ale turkey/pheasant starter for me and they regularly carry the Bar Ale complete flock feed.
