Quail habits and egg laying

Hello everyone. Firstly thank you for all the amazing information and advice I have received from everyone my gambles Quail is almost 8.5 months old . She just laid her second egg ever about 2.5 weeks apart. My question is this. Each time she seems so stressed . The process lasts for about 36 hours. She fluffs up , lethargic, so sad almost like she is egg bound . Is this normal egg laying pattern? She is fine now. Her second egg has a harder shell than the last as I changed her diet . Thank you so much in advance .

Is she getting enough calcium? You can always offer oyster or egg shell on the side if you're not aure, and she'll eat what she needs.

Also, what are you feeding her? She may have issues if she's not getting enough protein as well

Hello. I have upped her calcium. I think she may need even more . Also have changed her feed to include omegas , more protein and calcium along with her seed, veggies, micro greens ,and fruit as a treat. I’m hoping the process gets easier for her .
