Hello, I have 48 eggs incubating right now, they're due this coming Wednesday. I have my grow pens made, my brooder made, a light source, two feeders made, a few waterers, and I purchased some 24% chick starter. I'll list my questions:

1. What type of grit do I need to have available to them and where do I get it?

2. Is 24% enough to feed them or do I need to supplement with say, soybean meal to get to ~30%? If so, where do I get that?

3. Vitamins/Minerals: Do I need to add this to their water, how much/often, where do I get this?

I hope someone can help me out. I have city water, but plan to use mostly rain water for the quail/garden. The quail are for meat and eggs, I plan to keep 20 female and 4 males for breeders.

Thank you,
Curtis

None, their food is water soluble, only need grit if giving them things other than food.

2. Is 24% enough to feed them or do I need to supplement with say, soybean meal to get to ~30%? If so, where do I get that?

24% is fine, but 28% would be better. I don't know about soybean meal.

These birds are kind of a set it and forget it, very easy to care for. refer to this https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/102281/coturnix-quail-basics-information-and-pictures-galore
