Quail Help

Hey guys so I had two female quails but one ran away so now I have one is that one going to die since it's bye itself.will it lay even though it is bye it's self she is like 2 months.does she need a big cage because it is only her.

I'd give her a mirror for now but a friend would be better. Is she a button quail? If you are just keeping females then you can keep them in a smaller area with about 1 square foot of space per bird. If you decide to find a male for her they'll need about 5 square foot.

I used the mirror trick when I had a button chick hatch earlier than the rest. I found him chatting to his reflection - very cute! I tried to take it out when I had more chicks to keep him company. You should've heard the complaining! So I had to put it back in.

I believe in another thread they indictated it was a coturnix/Japenese quail. I agree that getting a friend is better. Where are you located, perhaps someone can help? I'm in North TX and would be willing to give you a young female but odds of you being close are pretty low. LOL
