Quail laying

My jumbo courtinix quail have started to lay . Can I buy layer pellets crush them up and feed to my girls .

Quail need a higher protein feed than chickens. It depends whats available where you are but they need gamebird feed of at least 22% protein with oyster shell grit offered free choice.

How much do the eggs weigh? They should get bigger as their systems get going too. Love coturnix eggs!

15 percent grower finisher and 5 grain scratch . They just started to lay last week only 2 months old I have 20 hens about 5 males I have 14 eggs so far . I guess it's time to get some oyster shell and put them back on the 24 percent chick starter. Till I get some game bird feed ordered .
