My around 1 year old male coturnix quail has been limping.
i first saw that he was sitting down which he dosent do often.
he lies a bit on his side
he cant walk, but he can fly normally. When he tries to walk, he limps and flaps his wings to balance himself but after 2 seconds just sits down again on the spot.
he was completely fine yesterday.
His poop was stuck to his feathers around his vent
the poop was like yellowish, had white gooey liquid and was liquid.
he felt soft. Like his stomach felt a bit softer than usual.
He isnt in a coop, he just lives with his mate
his mate keeps stepping on him, which angers him enough to grab onto her feathers (to try to mate? idk)
he cant mate tho.
hes ACTING normal. (being his sassy self)
Should i do anything? he wont move unless i push him
also he wouldnt eat his fav food - lettuce
he only ate some raw rice since he wont eat his grains
edit: He is half standing up right now. And he TRIES to eat his grains. Still trying to mmate but cant.

So sorry your bird isn’t well! I’m unsure with quail, and I’m afraid I can’t say much on what to do, but hopefully my response will bump this thread up and more people will see it who can help you! Hoping your little fella heals!

No, there isnt any clear in
Do you see any injuries or bumblefoot?

Photos of him, his legs/feet may help.
No there isnt any clear injury. i cant get a pic of him bc im on computer.
Hes improving now, he can stand but always loses balance
He is always in like this position where it looks like hes going to poop.his legs look a TINY bit spayed but he never had any leg problems in the past.
his poop is solid but its yellow

Yellow poop doesn't sound very good.
I'd work on hydrating him and get some poultry vitamins that contain B2(Riboflavin).
Hi! thank you for the concern but the quail has somehow recovered.
he is acting completely normally and can walk, fly and stand without any troubles.
i dont know why he was sick and how he recovered, but atleast he is fine now :hugs
