My husband is really interested in The Chalet coop by Quail Mfg in Kansas. It is speedy, but the coop is tractor style, easy to move, not a lot of wood, easy to clean....
Has anyone had any experience with these coops?

Welcome to BYC!

I haven't seen anyone review these here, and hard to search for,
but was looking at their site last week because I was interested in their wheel lifts.
Asked a question via contact and didn't get an answer,
might be my email address, thanks for reminding me to follow up.

They are awfully expensive(spendy not speedy above?) for the size, tho they do appear to be very well built out of good materials. I was questioning the wheel lift height/clearance and whether it would work well on rough bumpy ground, think that would be a real concern.

It's small, and they spin/exaggerate the floor space to include the run area underneath but don't subtract the space taken up by nest, feed/water, and ramp. At least they don't claim you can put a certain number of birds in there(not that I saw), I wouldn't put more than 3-4 in there. I also question the long term viability, and short term predator deterrence, of the plastic corrugated walls. Not sure it's appropriate for a harsh winter climate either.

I could go on...engineer by nature here....if had the money to burn and only wanted a few birds, I might go for it, just to touch and test it...but I don't think it's a great habitat if you want to maintain a long term flock, need much more space to add new birds...tho it would be awesome(like most tiny coops) as grow out/broody/isolation coop.

Yes, spendy, darn that auto correct!
I moved a less fancy one around on bumpy, uneven yard, very easy to move.
We don't plan on enlarging our flock, six is our limit.
Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it!
