Quail not laying anymore..Plz Help

We are in Fla, and at the first of March my Quail quit laying eggs..I went from 7-10 eggs daily to none all at once.. I did have them in the pen with my younger chickens, and noticed that my chickens were pecking them. We moved them to a Quail Pen, where they are safe, and still No Eggs..What am doing wrong?? I am feeding them game bird feed, they love it....

You put them into a stressful situation and they quit laying. Quail are funny like that. Sometime just moving them to a new pen will shut them off for a while. Once they settle back into what they think is "normal", they will start up again.

when you say a while, do you have any idea about how long it takes for them to re-settle down..they have been in the new pen for about 2 weeks now..they also have huts to hide in...thanks

it can take 2-4 weeks sometimes for them to start back up. Are they getting good sun (not overheating sun but visual sun they can see). If where you moved them is too dark that doesnt stimulate them enough to lay.


Also if your birds are 2 years or older they could just have stopped. OR you have an egg eater, OR something is still scaring them. You should never have chickens with your quails they're too itty i know you learned your lesson but just saying that for anyone else considering having those two together.

I know it seems strange to me..although I still have all the mixture still together, they have not even been mating either..the chics were all babies when they where put together. the chics just outgrown the quail and put them in harms way..( lesson learned there) However, they are in a pen above ground, with just enough sun light and shade too..plenty of water and feed..and hiding places, still no eggs.. I do not know exactly how old they are..Do they quit laying all at the same time?

Never mind, I sold them all...I am starting over with the Quail, this time, I am getting the Georgia Giant Quail...thanks everyone...
