Quail not laying!

Hi, my button quail are seven weeks old and they are still not laying. Are there any reasons why they might not be laying? I know for a fact that I have females so I'm wondering why they didn't start laying yet?

Oh, I feed mine 30% game bird feed

I've heard nothing but trash talk about it. It's apparently not very healthy/nutritious.

I hear a lot of good talk about Kalmbach 28% turkey starter. I'm using Kalmbach 28% pheasant starter, medicated. But many say they wouldn't use medicated, so after this bag. I'm switching to the turkey starter.

Almost forgot, the first three weeks, my chicks got 24%, then I learned that 28% was better. So mine may have started to lay a bit earlier if I had started with 28%.

Oh, but the friends that i got my fertile button quail eggs has many button quail which lay many eggs and she uses Purina without any problems.

It may seem there aren't any problems now. But there might be in the long haul, like them not living as long or something. When I hear three professional quail breeders say they would never use any Purina brand food for any type of animal, I listen.

I understand but she's been keeping quail for quite a few years now without anything bad happening.
And they live the average button quail lifespan.
