Quail still laying winter? (How to stop them?!)

Thank you, the stress might be I put the young ones to the old ones’ cage, and they did took time to know each other, the old ones don’t allow youngsters to enter their nest at the beginning, running all around sometimes:) I don’t think the light is problem. Before the molting, they all laying everyday without adding light.

When quail molt in the autumn, they stop laying until spring. Most of mine stopped laying in October and I haven’t got any eggs from them (only egg from a couple weirdos who didn’t molt) and I don’t expect eggs until maybe the end of March. If you keep them on artificial lighting in the winter, they may not molt and they will continue to lay. Quail are more wild birds than chickens are and will not lay when it’s not the breeding season unless you trick their bodies into thinking it is.
Wow, quite a long time! My friends’ quails never stop laying, even have some feathers dropped off, might because he kept quails in garage and always use artificial light, the environment quite stable. And plenty of worm supplies.
