So I've heard button quail could live in an aquarium, and I've heard they shouldn't... Well can they or not?! I have an empty 25 gallon tank I would want to put a trio in so I could get fertile eggs. What all would I have to do to make it a safe environment?

if you use an aquarium you must clean it every day or the ammonia from poo can build up and poison the birds. the best thing for bedding is aspen or pine shavings, you can use sand but do not use paper it is too slick and they can hurt their little legs on it. You can use the nonslip shelf liner that is sold in the housewares areas of most stores. it made by Rubbermaid and works really well as it is washable and reusable.
One last note, buttons really do better in single pairs, one male one female. Especially if you want to raise more. Good Luck.

I keep my quails in tanks & use wood shavings as bedding. Making sure the lids are secured is important, especially for button quails. They are quite flighty. I lined the underside of the lid with towel/netting. Cos when they jump when spooked, they can get their heads pretty banged up :/ And then you'd need to separate it until it's fully healed which can take weeks. Integrating the button back may not be successful too (from my experience).

I clean the tanks everyday or every other day.

Button quail should not be kept in tanks. It can make them sick because there isnt good ventilation, glass can stress them out, and it is hard to clean it. A guinea pig/rabbit cage is best for them.
