Quarantine Education

I’ve seen a few posts about raising chicks during quarantine and I have to say, it’s been pretty positive for us. My wife and I have 2 daughters (2 and 8) and were worried about them getting stir crazy or glued to electronics. My wife is all about animal life so I have to reel her back in most times. This time, I thought it was a good idea. Education, enjoyment and purpose.

So far it’s been all three of those things. We lost three of our original 12 (which are 4 days old now) but the remaining 9 are vibrant. The three we lost were having difficulty since day one so I am hopeful about the rest. My 8 year old, we have her keeping a journal about her time in quarantine and a lot of it is about the chicks! She cried when we lost the chicks but she had an outlet to talk about how she felt.
