I have had a broody for close to 4 weeks now. We've been taking the eggs so she isn't setting on any. In the meantime, I've been keeping my copper maran rooster and 3 hens in breeding pen the last 31/2 weeks and am ready to start collecting their eggs to incubate. I would like to put the eggs under this broody, but since she has been broody for this long, can I trust her to stay broody for another 3-4 weeks to set & hatch these eggs? I'm really wanting a broody to hatch these, but she is my only one at the moment. On the other hand, I really want these eggs and don't want to loose them. Any one else had experience with this kind of situation?

If she has already been broody for a while then that's a sign that she is serious about it. Once she gets eggs under her, she should sit on them just fine. But, I would have an incubator ready just in case.

Good luck.
