Question about BBS orp color and gender

Okay I am delibertating on whether my Suede baby is a really dark blue or a black....and also there are mixed opinions on gender. One one hand, at 9 days old, little wing feathers are coming in well...an orp female trait. My splash baby is feathering slow, a orp male trait. So...opinions as to color and breed of this little one...

this is the splash so you can see the wing feathering difference

So...it is my little one a blue or a black? Suedenator Jr or Suedette?

Looks blue to me and my guess is you have a little Suedenator Jr on your hands.

I am sure hoping so. I tell him daily what a good boy he is. One day he looks blue and the next he looks black...so i stay confused.

That baby does look very dark blue to me, Ladyhawk. Now, whether it's male or female, that may take a bit longer.

Having that blue cochin/EE baby and the black BA/EE baby...this little guy just throws me. One minute he looks dark blue and the next HE looks black. So, time will tell.

He and Cannonball were the first to greet me this morning. The were at the brooder window the minute I came out of the bedroom. LOL

LOL Well there's a 50/50 chance!

And if it's like most BBS Orps that I hatch here it's a BOY!
