question about building a "run" with trees inside and or as a post

There is some smaller trees I'd like to leave where they are, inside the area of the birds outside run, I think that's the right word atleast. I realize ill have to build around them and cut the fencing accordingly, but is there a bad side to this? ...... Also is using a big tree as a post bad, prolly huh Kuz animals can climb the tree, right...



Also, I'm going to TRY to inclose the whole outside area , ill build sections then put them together......

The shade will be good , but i would avoid trees on the outside that hang over the fence. To keep predators from climbing and dropping over inside the run.

I have 2 big oak trees in my main run. I have zero regrets. The trees provide shade and the leaves drop and make a nice bedding for the chickens to scratch around in.

well our chickens have an orchard that has 300 feet of 8 feet tall fencing and it works perfectly

I have a top on my runs made of what we call "dog wire". My chickens wouldn't last a month without a covered run.
