Two of my chicks that are on day 5 are forming against the air cell so when I candled them, I can't see the chicks. All I see is the air cell with veins all around it and speading outward through the egg. I can't see embryo, but the veins keep growing so they must still be alive. I am wondering what happens when the air cell expands over time. Will it start ripping the veins and kill them? Has anyone had this problem or am I just paranoid? Any advice would be great.

You must be using a turner. Thats where they start growing if the egg is in a turner, if they are laying on their sides the chick forms more on the side. they will be fine:)
