I just finished converting an 8x8 plastic shed to a functional coop for my birds. There are screened vents at the peak of both sides. I installed a fan at one vent to draw hot air out. It's controlled by a thermostat. I set it at 80F, but the sensor is at the top by the dark colored roof, so it gets to 80F well before the rest of the coop. What would be a good temperature for the chickens? It doesn't need to be cool, just not boiling hot. Please chime in if you have a fan. Thanks.

I recently started using a box fan for circulation as well. Not sure what temp the coop is now but it definitely seems to help, I was afraid it would just blow dust around but it’s higher up so it seem to do alright? I can check the temp when I put them to bed I tonight, I’m at work right now. Optimal temp for chickens is 65 F -75F I believe, but chickens are fairly hardy birds.
