Question about coop floor

I have read that cedar shavings are not good for babies....but is it okay for big girls? Cedar is so much easier to find than pine. Is it not healthy for them??????

Cedar is pretty bad for about any animal. The oils and fumes it emits can be toxic for many small animals, including chickens. I'd avoid it.

Is there a farm supply near you? They sell the pine shavings in huge bundles for around $6. I just bought two bags at tractor supply and the bill was less than $15.

Thanks....I tried to look back in the history and couldn't find a reason. I will check TS again...last time they only had cedar.
