Question about day 18

Tomorrow is day 18 for my first batch of eggs. My RIR and White Leghorn eggs have the normal air cell at the top. But as we have discussed most of the silkie eggs have an air cell that goes down one side of the egg. Should I lay those silkie eggs differently when I take them out of the egg turner?

I candled them last night and they are all kicking the poor silkies are in there tight. The air cell on the RIR is not as big as the diagram shows but the chick is kicking up a storm.

Now as to not opening the bator after tomorrow. Maybe with me having knee surgery tomorrow I will be knocked out at least for the 1st day!

umm, I have aqestion I have a egg turner and when it comes to day 18 im on day 14 right now but when it get there can i just turn off the turner. Or do I have to take te turner out, I have a LG with a turner just wanted to know.

When I hatched my polish chicks I took the eggs out of the turner and lay them on the mesh of the bator. I have a LG also. I would think it would be difficult for the chicks that hatch to move around.

It's getting exciting isn't it.

Now to sit and wait.

Oh, god dont talk aboutt he wait or I will be by the bator 24/7 screaming "HATCH ALREADY!"
