Question about duck egg.

My wood duck laid a few eggs a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately she laid most in the pond and only one in the box. She apparently had been incubating the one egg without me knowing for a little while. I took the egg in hopes of having her lay another clutch that was hopefully a bit bigger. When I started incubating the egg artificially it already had some veins and the beating heart was just barely visiable. The egg has been progressing well, but I am wondering at about what day the egg may have been when I put it in the incubator? I put it in on 4/2 so I am wondering when I should stop turning? I am thinking I should be pretty close.

I would think you are getting close also - 28 days you should have a pip starting or zipped.

How is the egg doing?

I it was a spider of veins with a heartbeat when you put it in it was probably around 4-5 days or so, so I would expect pipping and zipping in the next couple of days. Good luck!
