This link talks about what to feed chicks at different ages and for different purposes. It might help.

Instead of grower, I'd suggest either starter for the first 6 weeks then switch to grower until they are 20 weeks or a combination starter/grower for the first 20 weeks, depending on which is available. The starter has some stuff in it that helps get them off to a better start. After 20 weeks, feed them layer.

I fed mine the crumbles. They had some trouble with the larger pieces for the first week, so I put it through the blender as suggested. After a week, they would pick out the larger pieces and leave the powder so I stopped using the blender. When I switched to layer pellets at 20 weeks, mine immediately preferred the pellets and ignored the crumbles I had left over. Others report that theirs prefer the crumbles over the pellets. They are all different.
