Question about fertile eggs.

I was wondering how long eggs can be left out before put in the incubator and still be fertile? I obviously won't be refridgerating them, but just leaving them out until I get more.

From what I understand, they should be no older than ten days. Less is better.

After 10 days the chance of them developing lessens but they can still develop.

So I can put them in the incubator on the 9th or 10th day and their chance wouldn't lessen? But on the 11th day onward it could? Just making sure I'm hearing this right.

They will probably be fine. I have hatched eggs that have been in the fridge for 2 weeks.

Me too!! In fact I used to gather my cochin eggs for 2 weeks, keeping them in the fridge and then bring them all to room temp and set them all at once. I had 100% hatches with them.

Oh dang! I never knew eggs could still hatch once they were in the fridge. The incubator I'm getting doesn't have an automatic turner...so how often would I have to turn the eggs?

3- 5 times a day. Just make sure it is an odd number of turns.
