question about home owners insurance

Bank Safety Box is cheap and well worth the money.

You need to back up and get copies of all important paperwork
lost due to the flood. Your responsibility.

I do not know the insurance laws in your state, but I do know that
in Ohio, my show cars, unlicensed and not driven, were not covered
by my homeowner policy. Insurance company wanted a separate policy
on those cars. I declined.

Same with my spare Kenworth. Not covered by the company policy, as it
it not used often. Not worth my paying a years commercial insurance on
something that may not haul a load. They wanted an additional rider policy
to cover that truck setting in my yard.

Wife's riding mover is covered under homeowners. Golf cart is not. I do have a
separate policy on the golf cart, primarily for bodily injury. I have never asked
about the Kubota farm tractor.

Apparently things with titles are viewed differently by insurance companys.

I would not cheat an insurance company. Pointless. But I would satisfy the claim.
As the roof is yet to be removed, the damage underneath is at this point unknown.
When it is safe to do so, make a list of ALL damaged items. Overlook nothing. At that
point, figure a dollar amount. And DO take pictures.

But it will all go back to your policy. Do get a copy of it, and read it. I bet it will have a
clause on contents, and loss of use. I would think the garage to be considered as an
outbuilding.

But generally speaking, I don't think titled vehicles are covered by homeowners insurance.
