This started out as a post to the health/illness forum, but I think it goes further than that.

About 1.5 months ago, had an unsteady Isa brown. Here's the link. We figured it could have been heat exhaustion at the end of it all.

Now, 2 days ago, I have a 2nd one (same age) acting sort of the same way... not favoring leg.... but just hard time balancing... lying around and not wanting to walk. Not being picked on yet, thankfully. Just set her up in a cage in their coop with electrolyte/probiotic water and pellets. Excellent appetite and alertness. Laying. Just like 'normal,' save for this lying down business. She is standing more and probably one more day of confinement and I will let her loose in the gen pop.

I am starting to wonder (which is my question) if this is one of those red sex link 'problem' that seems to develop? I actually lost one unexpectedly (different symptoms) between the June 2024 post and this new girl. I mean, they could just be starting to fail?? They seem to bounce back from whatever this particular thing is.... some kind of imbalance?

I have always rather liked these birds. Mine have always been right as rain, or dead. They did not make old, old age, but somewhere close to three years of age, they just dropped off. I didn't' have to cull them, and they went peacefully. Kind of a win in my book.
