I have 5 batches of eggs coming in the mail this week from different sellers on ebay.
All the auctions were to be shipped and received within a day or two of each other so that I could put them into the incubator at the same time. One guy sent eggs (Wyandotte) way earlier than the others! They will be here tomorrow (June 25th) and were laid on the 20th of June. The other 4 batches are to arrive Monday, June 29th. I'm debating on what to do with them. If I get the other eggs Monday and let them sit overnight because they were shipped, the Wyandotte eggs will be 10 days old at that point. If I start incubating them earlier than the Monday eggs, they'll be off by a few days (depending when I start them) and in lockdown when they others are not yet in lockdown. Soooo, better to wait until they're older and risk fertility decreasing or start them earlier, but have them in lockdown when others still need turning etc.
I'm not sure how accurate that is about the fertility decreasing significantly after day 10? If I started the Wyandotte eggs Friday, they *may* be hatched by the time the others go into lockdown too. Decisions, decisions! Any advice appreciated, thanks!
