question about making an incubator? electric smoker into incubator???

hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone has ever converted an electric smoker into an incubator? I bought it an only used it once...I was curious because it seems to almost have everything in one..It has digital thermostat on top ,small light, racking, and a glass front to it. sounds perfect to me ! Has anyone ever done this? I never hatched eggs before and want to start soon. I figured why build one if i could use that! anyone that could help much appreciated. thank you!!!

couldn't hurt to try.

Get a number of thermometers in there in all different places & see if the temps are the same all over or if there are hot spots.

Can you control the temp to the degree? That's pretty important. You will need a way to control humidity too.

hello thanks for reply. yes i can digitally control the temp setting with a remote or on the temp control itself. good idea to check for hotspots ! other question i have is..since i can control the temp how important is the lighting?

you will only need enough light to see the eggs. They will do just fine in the dark.

What about a small computer fan to circulate the air? I'm trying this project also.

Just had a quail customer ask about this idea. Did either of you ever try it? And, if so, how did the experiment end up?
