It's been ages since we had kittens around the house. We always have out pets fixed to avoid such unplanned expansions. Somebody thought we needed this cat worse than they did one day last summer so we where adopted by this very nice cat. She has very long hair and didn't want us poking around to find out what sex she was so we had no idea until she started to swell. We are now the proud owners of 4 kittens and a cat. She has been living outside all this time till yesterday. WE brought her and the kittens in when she refused to keep them in a dry spot in the garage instead in the only spot that has no roof due to the wind ripping the tin off. Anyway, we provided her with her own room, litter box, a nice cozy box for her and her babies, and of course food and water. She has yet to use the litter box and has only been out twice today. She isn't going potty in the house either. She is eating and drinking and tending to her babies. She is either in the box with them, laying just outside the box or at the bedroom doorway.
Is it normal for her to not be going potty but twice a day? She had the kittens this past Monday and she appears to be fine. I'm just worried she is holding it and may make herself sick. I'm sure this is her first litter as she was a young cat when we where adopted.
I think she may have been kept indoors before because she kept trying to get in when she first moved here. She is very nice and friendly and doesn't even mind us messing with her babies. She doesn't jump all over everything or claw anything and is quiet. If I didn't see her I wouldn't even know she was here.
