question about Momma sitting on eggs

My hen has just been on her eggs for 5 days....Is it normal for her to poo on the eggs? They are kinda getting messy and I am trying to decide if she is really sitting. Thanks

It is not normal but sometimes they have an accident. If she is not leaving the nest at all you might take her off and place he away from it. She will probalby strech, shake real hard and eat and REALLY poop. she may graze and scratch for 10 to 15 minutes and then back to work.

I agree with jimnjay...it's not a normal habit so maybe an accident...make sure where you have her there is plenty of room for her to be able to get up , take a drink of water and eat...plus space for her to poop good...I'd take her off the nest once a day too far enough away that she can poop somewhere off the clutch....if she is serious about setting she will get right back on the nest after scratching around abit....
