I hatched 15 chicks from a mixed collection of hens. They are all quite different but this little guy is even more so. See the feathered legs with the black and the rest of the foot is yellow? This is the only black and white one. I do have 2 splash/mottled blue/black bantam cochin roos but never thought they could get the job done. My hens are very large. Only other roos are BLRW and an EE. Who do you think did it?

With the feathered legs, it is your Cochin. Also, the pigment on the toes may still come in. I have had some Silkies hatch with pink tips on their toes and now they are completely black.

The same things happened to my silkies. Here is one which used to look completely like a light sussex chick, but now about 5 weeks later looks absolutely 100% silkie!

Thank you for the info. They will be a week old tomorrow and so many changes already.
