Question About Pesticides

Long story short, my flock was killed by my "neighbor" and his dog (I don't want to call him that, because that seems like a positive word, and he was very cruel). During clean-up, my mother came over to the house, since I was so upset, and she sprayed pesticide over the areas where there were remains that we couldn't get through scooping everything up. So there were tons of flies and other bad bugs immediately. :(

Question is, is it okay to put a few chickens back in the areas that were sprayed? I believe the pesticide used was an Ortho brand, but I'm not completely sure. We've had heavy rain, snow, ice, etc. over the past 8 months, and any future hens wouldn't be there for at least another month and a half. So it will be almost 10 months since it was sprayed. I just want to know if I should move the coop and fenced area, or if I can keep them there safely? I have a temporary kennel where I can keep them, but it's smaller than I'd like their area to be. So I could probably keep them there a couple/few more months if it helps.

Thanks! :)

Any pesticide that would poison your chickens after ten months is almost certainly illegal to sell or use. Sevin, which is noted for being one of the harshest pesticides, is pretty safe for children after two rains.

Awesome! Thank you so much! I couldn't find anything on it, so that helps me out a lot.

Can you find out what she used?

I was told when I asked a bit ago that it was Ortho Home Defense Insect Killer. I tried to research it, but I just got more confused. On one hand, it says it lasts for a long time, but on the other, it's supposedly safe for pets after a couple rains. I figured that because chickens aren't like dogs or cats, with how they enjoy pecking around the ground, they might not be safe after just a couple rains.
