There's a lip on the inside of the "barn" making the "inside" floor or footprint smaller than the outside one. When you put a floor on this barn, do you do it on the inside or the outside? And I'm also wondering, is a wire floor best?

I was thinking of putting wire on the bottom to keep out rodents, and on the inside, putting in lino (which could then be taken out and washed easily. Does that make sense?

For my chickNbarn, I made two frames and covered with 1/2" hardware cloth so i can remove them and clean as necessary.

i also raised the barn up on stilts about 18" high to make it more predator proof and to let the dropping go down through the wire floor.

That works OK in my area (NC - not bitterly cold winters) and also because they aren't cooped up in there - they only stay in there at night to roost, and the rest of the day they are out in their run area.

Skip added the plywood floor to our Barn by notching-out the corners and setting the plywood down inside of it.
