Question about red sex links

Most of what I have read is that you need a RIR roo and a white breed hen to create a sex link, but what do you get if it is reversed? I contacted a lady with, as she put it, RIR type hens (maybe production reds?) and white leghorn Roos. Would that just result in a generic cross or would that be sex linked? :/

You'll normally get a white bird with black specks, streaks and smut, here and there. Alot depends on whether the white bird is white or just appears white.

I believe you'd not get a sex link.
