ok this may sound bizzare but is there any thing that can be done to prevent a rooster from crowing? I know that dogs can be de-barked but can a rooster be de-crowed? I have a few roos that I wanna keep but I cant keep them if the crow... HOA will not let me keep them... anyway if they dont know about them then I can keep them!!!

I know its prolly a stupid question but I was just wondering if it was even possible (I know it will be mega expensive to do!) so its prolly not ever gonna happen but I was wondering!

Some one posted a while back about this guy and I called to see if it was true and it is! Not only does he see chickens but he has developed a very simple proceedure that de-crows a rooster. People ship him birds from all over the country apparently and the secratary said that since she has worked there (a few years) she has not heard of a single roo dieing. It is about $450 bucks for everything including overnight stay and meds and surgery. Obviously he knows all about chickens for regular visits. He is also willing to talk to other vets to describe the surgery he does.

Why would you want to own a roo if it cant crow? I think this may be a discredit to the animal....its in thier nature.

well I cant have chickens where I live and I am doing it illegally... so if I have a rooster he will draw attention to the whole operation here... so I would like to have roosters but dont... if I could de-crow a guy I could keep him. thats why....

thanks for the phone number of the guy in Phoenix. I actually know where that is (we are from PHX) I think that guy is my MIL's vet!!!
