My LG said to keep both holes plugged until day 25 (for ducks) then unplug both of them.

Wendy,
Some people hatch ducks the same as chickens, which is with about 100 degree temps and 50% humidity. I have no experience doing it like this. The ones I just hatched had 70% humidity, days 1-25, and 80-85% days 25-28. Either way would be fine, just do not (imo) try dry incubation with duck eggs!! 50% humidity is dry for ducks!

And yeah, with only the big and one little trough filled with water, I would say that gauge is no good! I accidently sprayed my thermo/hygro with water once, and it read 99%. Kinda freaked me out, but I have to add a lot of sponges, towels, watever to the bator just to get it up to 80%. It won't even stay at 85%. It will go there, but it will come back down.

An I agree with WWIT...you will probably have the best hatch ever!!

ahh!..shelly..i was hoping you would come in here and help also!... you and attack chicken have been awesome!...thanks so much!...i actually took out the water in the troughs.... now..i have 4 sponges(one in each corner)..., because someone suggested instead of hand turning(because this is my first time)..that i use a egg carton and tilt method with sponges...so i dont have to keep taking off the top of the bator..etc...does that sound okay for duck eggs?.....so..i think i will go with the 60-70 humidity?...and 100 temp..?..

Yeah, 70% humidity and 100 degrees is perfect. The only problem is that a lot of duck eggs are bigger than chicken eggs, and putting them in an egg carton, to me, seems to get them too close to the top (heating element). Also, the egg cartons a lot of times suck the humidity out of the bator, and since it is so hard to get it to stay up high enough anyway, I just didn't bother. I actually have mine in a turner, since my bator died. Thank goodness I have my own (the one that died was a friend's), plus I have one from another friend.
