I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience dealing with fishers. About 2 months ago, something got into our coop and took all 10 of our Basque pullets. I secured the coop (or so I thought) and I went and bought a few hens at our local auction house. 2 weeks ago, they went missing. Both of these attacks happened in the middle of the day.
My hubby and I set up the live trap and our trail camera. We first caught our little miniature dachshund cross, then a cat, then another cat. But on the third night we caught something else... we couldn't see it clearly on the trail camera but we believe, based on the size and the outline, that it was a fisher. Unfortunately, it fought it's way out of the trap in a matter of two hours and got away.
So, we've continued baiting the trap, but have only managed to catch my MIL's chihuahua and a cat.
Any suggestions on how I can lure the fisher back into the trap? I want to get more hens next week, but I refuse to do that until this thing is caught and relocated.
