OOPS
I posted in the wrong place first...
I have my first rooster for my first breeding project (mille fleur d'Uccles) and although my neighbors are very nice, his crowing talent is to much to expect them to live with. I made him a huge rooster pad with a giant window in my garage, where his prodigeous crowing is muffled, but now I have this question:
Can I bring the hen(s) in for visits and return them to their own new outside coop?
Will I have constant re-introduction problems?
Will this cause fertility problems with the eggs?
I read somewhere that the hens will lay fertile eggs for up to two weeks after mating...so it seems like it should work for them to lay one clutch of viable eggs.
This is really my only option for breeding, so any suggestions for making this work will be much appreciated!
