I have 2 eggs in the incubator from my friend and they have one hen and one rooster and I was wondering if the eggs would be fertile I just assumed it was so I put them in a incubator its the 2nd day for them but I can't candle them because the eggs are dark I hope their fertile though but we never seen the rooster do anything to the hen
I woke up in the morning and the temperature went down to 73 degrees and I was wondering if they would be ok still?

If the rooster is doing his job, the egg will be fertile. If your temp only dropped that low once...for a short time, it should be ok. If that is all you have in the incubator you might want to add some water bottles or jars filled with warm water. (take out some turner trays if you have them) THe mass will keep the temp from fluctuating as quickly.

I dont have a turner tray so I hand turn them and I already have a small bowl of water and sponge in there for humidty is that ok?

That's good for humidity. I'm talking about water bottles filled with warm water, with the caps on......laying on their sides. They get to the same temp as the eggs inside the incubator. So when the temp fluctuates they help to stabilize it. This way, if your air temp starts to drop...since you have so much mass in the incubator it takes longer for the temp to drop in everything, since there is more mass.

I think I explained that right.

I have a question for you about the water bottles. I lost you in another post, couldnt find it again.. I think the water bottles are a fantastic idea, How do you keep the bottles from rolling around and damaging things. I thought about it but the tray table I have the bator on is antique metal table with three sections so I can put all my gear and extra things in there.. It wiggles and I was afraid the bottles might get rolling around. I would be really interested how you do this without damage to the eggs or newhatch

I have my eggs hatching from cartons right now. So the water bottle is laying at the end of the cartons with a sponge between it and the bator wall. It's sorta wedged in there. You can also use short jars...like salsa jars.
