About how long does it take them(BA's and LB's) to start laying? I think Tori told me they were supposed to start in December. They are the same age, born July 5. Do they mature about the same time? What's the usual?

Tori knows best about her breeds I'm sure. My brahmas are hatchery stock. I had a light brahma lay at 19 weeks. My dark brahmas and one or two of my buff brahmas are not laying yet and they are almost 7 months old.

My LB's are breeder stock not hatchery and they take forever to start laying!! Usually 6 months for me, they mature really slowwwwwwwwww. lol But when they start they will lay all winter long.

Yes they are slow to mature, but so worth it. We just got our second roo (Junior) and absolutely love the Light Brahmas breed. Now a brahma ( no "s") is the bantam breed. Be very careful when looking or buying. We are hatching ours out now and they are beautiful :)
