Don't know where else to ask this, but I see a lot of callers are from Alaska, so I'm hoping for some info on this.
A fellow on another Forum is asking the membership there if they know what a fair price is for a brown bear hide, veggie tanned with the hair off.
Pretty much all of us are telling him he can't buy one legally, and secondly, why would anyone tan a brown bear hide with the hair removed?
It's been 36 years since I lived in Anchorage, and I know laws always change. So could anyone here give us some info on the transfer of processed brown bear hides, and if legal, the going price these days? Hides are normally priced by the square foot, but any estimate would be welcome.
