I just received 2 Cuckoo Marans from a woman (she gave them away because "they're not show quality birds, so they're not worth anything - wouldn't be right to take money for them).
So, my question is this: The left eye on both birds seems weird. 1 of them kinda seems swollen,"naked", weepy, and has a bump near the front of the eye. The other chicks eye seems to be kind of "naked" too. I don't know how else to describe it other than naked (no fluff, just pink skin).
I have never had a Maran before & never had this eye problem with my other chicks. Thought I'd let the Maran experts have a go at it.
I appreciate any insight you can give me. I can post pics when my husband comes home with the camera.
