Question of the Day - Saturday, December 23rd, 2023

No, but we used to when I was younger. We don't currently set up an indoor tree either, though last year we put lights on a small blue spruce in our front yard. We haven't done that this year, but maybe we still will.

We did when we were kids. My grandmother made each of us three kids a stocking. I still have mine, somewhere.

The rule at our house was that you could get up early and play with stuff that was in your stocking. You had to let mom and dad sleep in. Presents after breakfast.

Yes. Stockings are for things like gift cards, candy, socks, and underwear. We always use the stocking for that kind of stuff and the kids knew that was family presents. It let us kind of build the excitement as Christmas gets closer and the stockings start filling up. Plus, for food, it keeps it away from the pets if it's up out of their reach.

This is the first year I've put presents out under the tree before Christmas Eve, for quite a while. Penelope is a bratty pig and she'd go out there and tear them all open if they went out early, but this year she's left them alone.

Not since the kids flew the coop. We do have ornamental stockings hanging on the fake fireplace, but the Princess hasn't gotten coal in several years.
LOL,
I once gave coal to my wife's sister. Long story but I had several nice presents for her after the initial shock of the coal. I felt bad because she started crying.
