Yes, when it suddenly down pour with heavy rain/thunder. I run to my chicken runs to roll out cover for them.

We must not be known for lightning here.
All I remember being told was not to be out in an aluminum jon boat or swinging a golf club during thunderstorms.

A brother of a friend, was struck by lightening and died. I think he was on a golf course.

If I want something outside, I go. Like checking on the chickens. Still in the garden, harvesting when it blows in quickly and I just want to harvest a few more things before they absorb the rain. If lightening I saw lightening, I'd probably stay in. Still, thunder, I may be outside rushing around in the garden or locking up the chickens at dusk.

Not thinking of the damage. It looks beautiful.
We were in the mountains during a thunder/lightening storm. The sound awesome, the sight, spectacular. Now, we were in a hotel, upper floor, on the balcony (not touching the rail ), after ending the vacation at a dude ranch.

Thunder is the sound of lightning. As the lightning strikes it rips the air molecules apart. Thunder is the sound of the air closing back up. It's scary because it's meant to be frightening, to keep us safely inside.

But I have a lightning joke. I've heard that if you find yourself on a golf course in a sudden storm, crouch down and hold your one-iron up above your head. 'Cuz even Thor can't hit a one-iron.

What camera do you use? I've been trying to take photos of the lighting, but never have luck.

Since I learned to appreciate rain, I often go out on the front porch to watch or listen to it.

Pasting something I wrote in another thread here:

I AM utterly convinced that everything I love will be struck by lightning. Don't look up lightning stats if you have a fear of lightning - it doesn't help. My husband and parents all have this inexplicable love of storms and will go stand in the yard to watch lightning. If my husband wasn't too large for me to drag, I might seriously consider knocking his noggin and locking him up in the basement until the storm passes.

I hate storms.
