Question of the Day - Sunday, January 7th, 2024

I'm a child of the 1960's and 70's, so my tastes naturally tend to come from that era of music. Rock & Roll, baby! But it's hard to narrow down to just one singer, or just one band. First that come to mind, though are The Eagles - and my all-time favorite song, Hotel California:

But also Elvis Presley, Chicago, Pink Floyd, and just for flavor from a different genre.... Enya. If you don't know her, take a listen!

Lately, I've become quite fascinated with the music of The Celtic Woman:

Oh, wow. Favorite. Dan Fogelburg is high on the list, his early/middle stuff. Some of the later stuff, eh, not so much. Ditto with Carole King.

Groups: The Eagles, some of Kansas' stuff, others I can't think of at the moment.

Current groups: Crossbow (Celtic)

Composer: Hands down, Beethoven.

I'm with others, too many to pick! Sometimes I can go for a little Andy Williams, Ol' Blue Eyes (that's Frank Sinatra to you young'uns), Nat King Cole, esp with his daughter Natalie, ABBA, Dusty Springfield, John Denver, Buffalo Springfield, Bread, Jefferson Airplane, Neil Diamond, Oliver, Scott MacKenzie (one-hit wonders) ..... Simon & Garfunkel, Moody Blues, Eagles yes oh golly, somebody stop me!

As for composers, I'll see your Beethoven and raise you a Tchaikovsky and a Rimsky- Korsakov. Maybe throw in a little Rochmaninoff while I'm at it ...
