What were you doing when you heard about the attack on 9/11?

I was getting ready for work.

I wasn’t alive, but my mother was working in a bookstore.

I was a little kid so probably in school or something? Idk

I was at work watching on a big screen TV in the break room with everyone else when the first tower fell.

The image will never be out of my head.

We worked second shift, and I was thinking about something for lunch. Hubby had the TV on for the noon news and said, "The twin towers are down." I thought he meant no power, or something. Then I saw the images on the TV.

Back then I was running drugs and in the Leavenworth Penitentiary.....
Ok not what you're thinking. I delivered pharmaceuticals to pharmacies. One of my stops was the Leavenworth Penitentiary. When I pulled in the place was going into lockdown and I couldn't make my delivery. That had never happened before. I didn't know what was going on. A gate guard mentioned something about it but I didn't quite understand.
I immediately drove to Walmart because it was close and I knew they had TVs that were always on.
It felt so unreal and idk how long I just stood there watching several channels at once. Then dispatch paged me, ya remember pagers, lol. I radioed in and was told to immediately return to the warehouse and then go home.

I was installing a new compressor in a commercial freezer for a friend at his convenience store. He had the tv on in his office. He came and told me that one of the towers had been hit by a plane. I just thought how in the world could that happen. I figured a small plane had problems or something. In a few minutes he told me that I needed to come see this. We watched the second plane hit and all that followed.

I was sleeping in my carrier while my parents were praying in church. They had no clue. Then a lady came running into church screaming that the towers just been attacked. My parents though she was nutty in the head and kept on praying. When they got home they turned on the TV and couldn't believe it.

Crying, because as a baby I was either asleep or crying. Not much middle ground for mw
